Jane Yau joins the team

Starting 1st June 2021, Dr. Jane Yau joins the EduTec team as a Researcher in the HIKOF-DL project. This project combines the existing methods from two open-source software tools – personalisation of formative learning feedback with the OnTask tool (funded by the Australian Govt.) and transformation of generic tests into adaptive ones suiting to individual learner profiles with the KAT-HS tool (funded by BMBF, Germany) in order to form new technologies for improving teaching and learning in the university context. This new feedback system will be implemented and evaluated with students at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and further collaborations with industry partners will be developed, who are interested in the technologies for increasing the learning effectiveness and study success within their students’ courses. Joshua Weidlich joins the team

Starting April 2021, Joshua Weidlich joins the team as PostDoctoral researcher. He completed his PhD on social presence in online learning environments at the FernUniversität in Hagen in February 2021. He holds a Master's Degree in E-Learning and Media Education from Heidelberg University of Education as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Science from Chemnitz University of Technology. Nina Seidenberg joins the team

Starting January 1st 2021 Nina Seidenberg joins the EduTech team. She has a part time position at the DIPF and is also working for studiumdigitale (Goethe University). She was one of the organizing chairs of the 10th international Learning Analytics and Knowledge Conference, one of the very first conferences that was moved to the virtual space in spring 2020.Her research focuses on the management and design of virtual conferences.

Onur Karademir joins the team

Starting February 1st 2021 Onur Karademir joins the EduTec team as a PhD candidate. During his studies in M.Sc. Computer Science at the Goethe University Frankfurt he worked at the studential think thank #DigitalChangeMaker of Hochschulreform Digitalisierung. After graduating he founded in 2020 the StartUp StudyCore which delivers EdTech Tools for Universities and Schools. In his research Onur will be working on various Learning Analytics algorithms to distinguish successful learning strategies and extract the acquired skills in a learning environment. Furthermore he will be working on didactical feedback to support the individual learning process.

Daniele Di Mitri joins the team

As of 1st November 2020, dr. Daniele Di Mitri joins the EduTec team as a research group leader and postdoctoral researcher. Daniele's research focuses on how to support multimodal learning activities, i.e. activities not mediated by a typical computer. While his primary research field is Multimodal Learning Analytics (MMLA) Daniele's is also passionate about Artificial Intelligence in Education and interaction between Humans and AI. Daniele received his PhD at the Education Faculty of the Open University of The Netherlands and completed a one year of research in the Centre for Actional Research (CAROU). At EduTec @ DIPF Daniele will embark in different projects dealing with the use of Artificial Intelligence for supporting both general academic and school education activities, physical rehabilitation and sports. On 01.02.2020 Dana Kube started as European Project Coordinator at the EduTec group. Dana manages international scientific cooperation projects such as a strategic partnership in schools co-funded by the European Commission. She started her career as a social science researcher and project staff in 2016 working in several EU projects in the field of education in the Western Balkans and Northern Africa. She then supported the German Development cooperation agency in Frankfurt and joined the DIPF staff in 2019. More details about Dana can be found on her personal profile page.
