Saba Mateen is a research associate at Goethe University, where she specializes in accessibility and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into educational assessment. In particular, her work focuses on Machine Learning, especially Natural Language Processing, to improve fairness, efficiency and accuracy in the assessment of medium-length exam texts. Saba's research also addresses the pedagogical and ethical dimensions of AI-driven assessment, such as ensuring the quality of feedback and the explainability of AI systems. By studying user experiences and teachers' interactions with AI tools, she aims to develop grading procedures that are less prone to bias and promote educational equity and effectiveness.
