Dr. Oliver Herrmann is postdoctoral researcher at the Educational Technologies group of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (Goethe University Frankfurt), Germany. In 1991–2000, Dr. Herrmann was a freelancer and worked as audio-engineer, camera-assistance and trainer for media companies. In 2000 he changed to science. 2000–2005 he focused on interactive storytelling at Zentrum für Graphische Datenverarbeitung (Computer Graphics Centre). There he researched on and developed mobile AR- and VR-edutainment applications. After working on group communication of mobile games (2006–2007) he focused on technology enhanced learning. 2007–2008 he has been involved in the Virtuellen Kompetenzzentrum E-Learning Hessen (Virtual Competence Centre eLearning Hesse). 2009–2011 he established and managed the eLearning system of the Hochschule Darmstadt (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences). 2011–2019 he worked at TBA | Zentrum für Technologiebasiertes Assessment (Technology Based Assessment) at DIPF | Leibniz-Institut für Bildungsforschung und Bildungsinformation (Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education) and focused his research on E-Learning and formative assessments as well as motivational adaptive eLarning systems. Since 2019 he is the head of the innovation forum Trusted Learning Analytics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main. Dr. Herrmann has also a great interest in teaching in the university context. He had lectureships for audio technology at the faculty of digital media of the Fachhochschule Ulm (Ulm University of Applied Sciences – 2002–2005) and for interactive media at Hochschule Darmstadt (2008–2010). He also substituted a professorship multimedia technology for the study-course online communication at the faculty of media at the Hochschule Darmstadt.
