On 23.02.2022 Hendrik Drachsler was interviewed by Niklas Prenzel from Table.Media about Artificial Intelligence in university teaching and the joint project IMPACT. In the interview, he outlines how AI can support teaching and help reduce the burden on lecturers as well as giving answers to the concerns from other disciplines. AR4STEAM: Documentary Film Premiere of the DIPF Project

Today we celebrate the successful completion of our joint project work between school and research institute on augmented reality (AR) apps and STEM learning. The DIPF and the Adorno Gymnasium in Frankfurt set out to develop and learn STEM topics with AR. The result of this innovative STEM Lab is a great app developed together and a documentary film on the process and results. New project ML2MT: Artificial Intelligence across disciplines

With almost 10 million euros in funding, the Volkswagen Foundation encourages research projects that explore how artificial intelligence will affect society. Goethe University Frankfurt (GU) was successful with an application that looks at developments in human-machine interaction in education. "From Machine Learning to Machine Teaching (ML2MT) - Making Machines AND Humans Smarter" - this is the title of the project that the economist Prof. Oliver Hinz applied for in an interdisciplinary project together with colleagues from various subjects. The success of learning machines, as in the prime example of the board game Go (in the computer version "AlphaGo Zero"), has inspired scientists. AR4STEAM: Premiere of the documentary film and ceremonial conclusion of the project work

Today we celebrated the successful completion of our joint project work between school and research institute in the innovative STE(A)M labs on an augmented reality (AR) apps and STEM learning. The DIPF and the Adorno Gymnasium in Frankfurt set out to develop and learn STEM topics with AR. The result of this innovative STEM Lab is a great app developed together and a documentary film on the process and results. We celebrate this with the presentation of AR Creator certificates for all students and teachers and 2 tablets, which the project team gives to the school as a thank you for the great cooperation and spirited joint works on the future of learning! Nationale Bildung Plattform (NBP) Brainstorm Meeting

Today, representatives from BMBF, DIPF, studiumdigitale and Open University NL discussed the potentials and challenges of the Nationale Bildung Platform (NBP) initiative by BMBF. The BMBF is following a fresh and new approach to making the NBP actually become a sustainable platform. This was great to see and is a very promising approach for digital education in Germany. We first got a presentation of the KOMZERT project that works on the use case for the NBP. KOMZERT aims to develop a virtualized training program for teachers that enables them to acquire methodological knowledge and digital skills in order to design their own teaching/learning scenarios in such a way that the potential of innovative educational technologies can be exploited. Am 11. November 2021 fand die virtuelle Auftaktveranstaltung der BMBF-Förderlinie Forschung über "Studienerfolg und Studienabbruch II" statt. Virtueller Gastgeber war die FernUniversität in Hagen. Das EduTec Team war mit dem Projekt LAMASS@DiLea, in dem Faktoren für Studienabbruch und Studienerfolg im Zusammenhang mit digitalen Lehrformaten untersucht werden, ebenfalls vertreten. Danach begannen die Kurzvorstellungen der geförderten Projekte, in denen sich alle 19 Vorhaben zum Thema Studienerfolg und Studienabbruch innerhalb von 5 Minuten präsentierten. Two new research grants on AI in Higher Education

The EduTec group contributed to two winning research grants on AI in Higher Education for the upcoming four years. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is thus strengthening Frankfurt as an excellent centre for educational technologies, especially AI in Education (Learning Analytics). The federal-state initiative “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education” supports two projects at the Goethe University Frankfurt. One of the projects is a cooperation project under the Goethe University Frankfurt direction, together with the University of Bremen, the FU Berlin, the HU Berlin, and the distance university in Hagen. Consortium meeting and research workshop of the HELA project

Unter der Leitung von studiumdigitale tragen wir im folgende Projekt zur Nationalen Bildung Platform (Gaia X) bei. Ziel des Projekts ist die Entwicklung eines virtualisierten Qualifizierungsangebotes für Lehrende, mit dem sie Methodenwissen und digitale Kompetenzen erwerben können, um eigene Lehr-/Lernszenarien so zu gestalten, dass Potenziale innovativer Bildungstechnologien zum Tragen kommen. Die Lehrenden lernen dabei Methoden und Tools kennen, die während der Qualifizierung zum Einsatz kommen (didaktischer Doppeldecker) und mit denen sie innovative Lehre umsetzen können. Das Qualifizierungsangebot wird kompatibel mit der nationalen Bildungsplattform umgesetzt. Somit lässt sich das gesamte Angebot durch standardisierte Metadaten auffinden und verknüpfen, erworbene Kompetenzen feingranular zertifizieren und zu einem Kompetenzprofil in Form eines persönlichen Data-Wallets auf der Meta-Bildungsplattform zusammenstellen.
