The monthly QE Webinar Series showcases emerging research and exciting new developments in Quantitative Ethnography. On 29 June 2021, Hendrik Drachsler gave an invited webinar for the SoLAR webinar channel where he reflected the process of applying learning analytics solutions within higher education settings and schools, its implications, and the critical lessons learned in the Trusted Learning Research Program. The talk focused on the experience of edutec.science research collective consisting of researchers from the Netherlands and Germany that contribute to the Trusted Learning Analytics (TLA) research program. The TLA program aims to provide actionable and supportive feedback to students and stands in the tradition of human-centred learning analytics concepts. It, therefore, applies sensor technology to support psychomotor as well as web technology to support meta-cognitive and collaborative learning skills with high-informative feedback methods. Februar 2021 eingeladen, um die Befunde der Trend- und Zukunftsstudie „Künstliche Intelligenz in der schulischen Bildung“ zu diskutieren. Prof. Dr Hendrik Drachsler and 15 other experts were invited by the Deutsche Telekom Foundation to the virtual workshop "KI@Schule - Zwischen Wunsch und Wahrscheinlichkeit" on 25 February 2021 to discuss the findings of the trend and future study "Künstliche Intelligenz in der schulischen Bildung".

Learning Analytics Workshop at DELFI 2020

On behalf of the Arbeitskreis Learning Analytics (Learning Analytics Working Group of the German Informatics Society) the digLL innovation-forum Trusted Learning Analytics organised and lead the workshop Learning Analytics on 14th September 2020 as part of the pre-conference workshops of the biggest German eLearning conference DELFI. Due to corona the workshop was fully online. This year, the workshop was focused on „Trusted Learning Analytics“ lead by Oliver Herrmann of the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and „Data Literacy“ with Sven Judel of the RWTH Aachen.

TLA presented at Learning Analytics Learning Network (LALN)

On 4th September 2020 Oliver Herrmann presented the current state of Trusted Learning Analytics (TLA) at a Learning Analytics Learning Network (LALN) workshop. LALN is a worldwide network of LA researchers. The workshop was held as a video conference as part of DELFI, Germany’s leading eLearning research conference. After the presentation, the meaning of “trusted” have been discussed in an international context, that brought new perspectives to be included in further research on TLA.

In the context of the hessian project, Digital gestütztes Lehren und Lernen in Hessen (digLL) organized the Innovation forum Trusted Learning Analytics (TLA) on 4th of February a workshop on Learning Analytics supported Learning Design with Marcel Schmitz. Marcel Schmitz is working for more than 16 years in Higher Education at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in the South of the Netherlands. His career at Zuyd started as a Technical Support Engineer and Developer on the learning management system and soon he began to implement and develop several learning enhancing technologies.
