In the midst of our busy lives between scholarly discourse and the clatter of keyboards, there are moments that stand out, moments of transition and reflection. In this blog post today, we bid farewell to a cherished colleague, Dr. Ioana Jivet, as she embarks on a new chapter of her journey as a Professor at CATALPA – Center of Advanced Technology for Assisted Learning and Predictive Analytics at the FernUniversität in Hagen.

For nearly a decade, Ioana has been an integral part of our team, bringing not only her expertise but also her warmth and dedication. As analytics scientists we like diving into the numbers: from the start of Ioana’s time with us on June 1, 2021, until her your new start at CATALPA on March 1st, 2024, we’ve had the pleasure of working with her for 1,005 days, which is 24,096 hours or 1,445,760 minutes, or, if we really want to break it down, 86,745,600 seconds of time researching together.

As we reminisce on this time spent together, it’s evident that Ioana’s impact transcends mere numbers. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and her ability to connect with others have left an indelible mark on our team. Whether it was navigating through ambitious projects or engaging in spirited debates, Ioana’s integrity and kindness shone through.

But Ioana’s journey doesn’t end here; it merely takes a new turn. As she takes on the role of Professor at CATALPA, we celebrate her achievements and anticipate the great things to come.

As we bid farewell, we are reminded of Bilbo’s words: “Don’t adventures ever have an end? I suppose not. Someone else always has to carry on the story.” Ioana’s story continues, and we are eager to see the chapters yet to unfold.

So here’s to you, Ioana, as you embark on this new adventure. May your path be filled with discovery, growth and endless possibilities. Congratulations!
